What I Learned Today from Blogging

Today I have learned that:

Living takes precedence over blogging

People are remarkably different, quirky and how dull if we were all alike

Some so-called tough guys are really very nice guys

We're all getting sucked into Blogger's insidious Design Button (and what happened to Layout anyway??)

Some days admit it we got nothin'

We blog because we love it not just to sell our books

Maybe if I could storyboard like this I'd get an agent and a 3-book deal

A good writer can find a story anywhere even on a bus (and make it hilarious if they're Fran)

Cats make everything better  (most especially those like Charlie yes I'm in love with this cat)

I could have gone on and on but it's Monday and I do have to clean house. And take a shower at some point today.  So yes, this is why I love my blogging friends. I learn so much from your posts. Your cleverness, your voices, your personalities (and your cats) make every day beautiful.

  3. Thanks Talli. And what I learned from you is that even gorgeous blond published authors with a new book coming out stress out over an author photo!

  4. Jai, and I didn't even get to yours yet. Going there now!!

  5. Well, the only problem I'm finding so far with the new Design is something another Blogger said about not being able to scroll as easily through the posts. But it's pretty miniscule. Maybe I can find some time later to explain how the layout works. I just kept clicking on things 'til I figured it out. Didn't take very long.

Yes, living takes precedence over blogging. But I too love to meet the wonderful people who blog. However, do clean your house and take a shower. My aide is here with Jen (yay! finally) and I'm working on the draft of my #2 WIP, the memoir Homeless. I AM making progress.

    Have a great Monday.

  29. I'll admit it. I was a doubting Thomas when I first entered the blogging world...ok, still entering...oh alright, just reading other people's blogs at this point -- but, I'm working on it. Anyway, I digress. The point is that I'm coming around to the idea of blogging and it's thanks to you, Karen. Cheers to Xena and her devoted followers!

  30. Can identify with everything you have said. Blogging is such a great way to connect with other writers and readers(!) It's also good to know that I share so much in common with other writers and that I'm not crazy!

  31. Aww, you make my my blogging experience beautiful too!

I finished 'Farm Girl' last night. I will write about at some point this week. Prob Thursday or Friday. :o) four stars from me! I loved how it was not told tradionally. It was almost like your mother was telling me. Kinda the way my grandma would tell me stories. It was very sweet - and interesting!

  33. *snicker* Very nice collection, Karen! Thank you for including me! Though in an effort at full-disclosure, this is my first shot at storyboarding... the agent and book deal came to me in a MUCH more round-about way... I just think mystery is really conducive to storyboarding, so I am going to try it...

  36. Greetings Karen,
I write for cathartic and therapeutic reasons. Indeed, it can be a most positive resource.
An interesting selection of links. However, cats..well best I leave my thoughts on those creatures back at my blog where I recently did a posting about those little 'darlings'.
    With respect and kindness, Gary
