Waiting for blogger.....................aaargh........still waiting........!!!!...........

Message to my blogging friends:

Is it just me or is anyone else having trouble with Blogger lately? It's taking forever to load and can I just say I am FRUSTRATED. One of the joys of my day is taking a break from work and popping around to visit you guys, read your posts, make my rather inane comments, you all know the routine. It's fun isn't it? I'm not kidding, it's the best part of my day, and I have to watch the clock or it could be my ENTIRE DAY!!

But now it takes me forever to do this fun little thing. Waiting for blogger to load. Waiting...waiting...waiting...omigosh why is it taking so long??!!! Emails are fine, Facebook is fine, even stupid Twitter is fine. The problem seems to be with Blogger. It doesn't seem to be a problem with my internet or my computer. Anyway, until blogger works things out, I may be somewhat absent from your comment sections. Because like everyone I have limited time and unfortunately I can't spend it WAITING FOR BLOGGER!!

Message to Blogger People:

You guys have sucked us in, you can't mess with us now. We are counting on you to be there for us. To be speedy with opening blogs, speedy with posting our comments. This is how we connect with our friends. We need our friends. We need to talk to them. We need to hear from them. We need you, Blogger, to get your stuff together. Because we all have lives outside of blogging and our activity here already eats into it quite a bit. Most of us can't afford to have you waste our time even more than we're already wasting it ourselves. Believe me, I can waste plenty of time on my own, I don't need any help from you people thank you very much.

So please Blogger People-- fix whatever needs fixing so you can be speedy again.

And Blogger Buddies, if I'm absent from your blogs for a time, now you know why! *Grrrr to Blogger*

  1. Having this same problem!! I couldn't access it at all yesterday (kept getting a 503 error). So apologies to my Blogger Friends as well!

  2. I've been having the same problems. It's seriously cutting in to my blogging time, especially when it keeps making me write a comment twice when it error 503's! Grr.

  3. I'm so sorry Karen! I wish it would work better for you. I have problems with blogger at times too. I hope it works out soon! =)

  4. It's been working fine for me, but I am nowhere near being a techie so I have no idea why. Hope they manage to sort out whatever is causing the problems really soon, as I can feel your frustration from here.

  5. It happened to me about two months ago. Lasts about a week. They must upgrade by region. That's the only thing I can think of.

It'll get better. Hang in there.

  6. I agree, Grrrrr. I hate when these things happen that we have no control over. No worries, Karen. Come back when you can.

  7. Slow loading. Eating comments. "Service Unavailable." I'm with you.

  8. I've had the same problem over the last two weeks. It's frustrating and I've actually logged out and done something else. I think it has to do with traffic and the fact that they are still making changes. I uploaded a picture yesterday and it was a whole new format.

  9. I hate when the Blogger Gremlins are up to no good. Drives me crazy! I'm not having any trouble this morning, but I've had days when Blogger takes forever to load stuff and eats my comments, and I call my next door neighbor who also blogs, to learn she isn't having any trouble. Go figure! Good luck with it.

I tagged you today on my blog :))

  10. I was noticing some slowness yesterday, along with various other issues. Knock on wood it seams to be alright today. It is frustrating when websites aren't working like they usually do.

  11. I guess by now you realize it is not just you :) I would like to point out they are adding supposed new features in our dashboards. Spam filter to comments and the ability to up load one than one photo at a time....

They are probably doing to much all at once :(

  12. Hmm, I was absent from blogger yesterday, but I'm not having any trouble today. Maybe your message made them fix the problem! :)

  13. I'm having the same problems. Blogger can suck my ass.

    ReplyDelete
  14. LOL! You sound pretty pissed. I keep getting Error Message 503 and often some of the pages don't load entirely. Blogger seem to have upgraded the way stuff is uploaded, maybe that's caused the problems. Or maybe it's just so busy that it's having a hard time coping? :O)

  15. I've been having problems with blogger too. It keeps wanting to eat my comments. I've taken to copying them before trying to post them now, just in case they disappear, but that's kind of a PITA.

  16. I can view and comment on 7 to 8 blogs before I have to exit the internet, let it cool for a few minutes and come back to do the next 7 to 8 blogs. It is my computer. Then, I recently added a feature I thought was cool and my blog slooooowwwed down. So now I had to delete that. Yours uploaded just fine.

  17. So glad to know it's them and not me. So glad to know that it's the upgrades and not blogger flaking out right when we need them most. Maybe I'm just a little bit addicted? Maybe this is the universe telling me to back off? I do love the new stats & comments features, once they load that is haha.

  18. Joanna, I haven't. I prefer to grumble and grouse, then go make cookies.

    ReplyDelete
  19. I haven't had trouble with slow loading, but I've been getting a lot of 503 errors. I don't know what the deal is.

    ReplyDelete
  20. Oh Blogger has been playing up more so than normal - it's either very slow uploading or the Error 503s just proliferate and it also does this thing of signing you out just like that!!

I think blogger just can't handle the traffic while they try to update a lot of the features. Well that's my theory anway! LOL!

Good luck with the tech bloggie gremlins KarenG!! I certainly feel your pain!

    Take care

  21. Me, too, yesterday, but it seems to be working better, today! So at least you know it's not you! They could at least tell us when this is going to happen, right? Hang in there!

    ReplyDelete
  22. Yeah, me too...and it *is* frustrating, BUT...it's free.
I feel guilty complaining when it gets buggy because it has brought me so many writer friends and joy at no cost.

I'm still getting some errors when commenting today. So, it is still being buggy for me.

I still love you Blogger. :) *pets blogger*

    ReplyDelete
  23. I'm okay today, but the error message when trying to comment comes up several times a week.

    ReplyDelete
  24. Mine has been fine. Perhaps it's acting up for those who have more followers than you can count on your hands ;).

    ReplyDelete
  25. Grrr... I know! That's why I find it frustrating when people have so many hoops to go through to comment.

  26. Well, Karen, this is one of those situations where misery loves company. Blogger is driving me absolutely nuts. I'm sick of waiting for it to load and so on. Until I saw your post, I thought the problem was with my computer. So, thankful there's no Geek Squad bill, just need some patience for Blogger to get its act together (You reading this Blogger? Get off your dead ass so I can get some work done!)

    ReplyDelete
  27. Kittie, me, too, I'm glad I posted so I could find out it's fairly universal.

Clarissa, Yes! Time for everyone to take off word verif!! To save us all further frustration.

JEFritz, Funny comment LOL. I had to pop over to your blog and follow, thanks for speaking up! Nice to meet you :)

Alex, I haven't had the error much, mostly just the waiting....

Lola, You're right. I shouldn't be mean to nice Blogger. I love you too Blogger. I'm glad you're free and there for me MOST of the time. *pets Blogger with Lola* *gives Blogger a cookie*

  28. It is definitely not just you, Karen. Blogger is taking an age to load, and following new followers is just screwed up.

    ReplyDelete
  29. Definitely not just you. I've been receiving a lot of 503 Error messages lately, and it also takes ages for me to access Blogger homepage.

    ReplyDelete
  30. I haven't really noticed a problem, but then I don't get on blogger everyday.

PS. Thank you for letting Nasan do my cover! He'll make it great! Also, just curious, can he do art here and there through out the story too? Just in black and white? Kids LOVE that!

    ReplyDelete
  31. Melissa, Nasan do your cover? That's not my decision LOL. *somebody's jumping the gun again*

  32. I have almost continuous intermittent problems with blogger (that doesn't make sense does it?)
What happens is almost every day it goes through periods where it will just not do anything. Very frustrating arrrrgh!

    ReplyDelete
  33. I hear ya. Sometimes its slow and sometimes I get the 503 error--whatever that means. Fix it blogger!! I need my peeps.

    ReplyDelete
  34. I understand your pain. I've had some of the same issues. Yesterday even my Gmail gave me problems. I had e-mails popping in that were two and three hours old. Don't know where they had been but they finally found their way home. LOL

  35. I'm sorry you had trouble. I didn't, but I may not have been on when you were. Hope it's better for you now.

    ReplyDelete
  36. I've been having problems for several days: slow loading, Error 503 and pictures uploading differently (it was better the old way).

Good to know that we are not suffering alone!

    ReplyDelete
  37. I've noticed this week that my blog list has vanished, which is most frustrating. I don't really have time to add them all back again and have been waiting for it to magically reappear - no luck so far!

    ReplyDelete
  38. So sorry you're having trouble, Karen! I've HAD trouble, but not for quite a while. I DID just get rid of some of my side gadgets and my fancy background as I had a few readers tell me my blog was acting up--seemed to improve things. I've never had trouble over here, though, so I have no idea if that has anything to do with it.

    ReplyDelete
  39. The other day I had a terrible time loading my own page, and I wondered if everyone else was having the same problem. Sometimes it will show I have comments, but when I look, there's nothing there! Very frustrating.

    ReplyDelete
  40. Sorry you're having a bad blogger day, Karen. :( I hope that tomorrow is a better day for you. :)

    ReplyDelete
  41. I thought it was just me! I usually have six pages up at the same time (drives my hubby crazy) and I thought that was what did it. Well, that probably doesn't help.

    ReplyDelete
  42. I've been absent from blog comments for a bit, for my own reasons, so I must have missed the Blogger Crisis. Whew. Finally, procrastination pays off!

    p.s. I hope it's working now, because I'm back! :)

    ReplyDelete
  43. Blogger's been driving me crazy recently. I totally agree!

  44. Hope you get back in the swing quickly. Amazing how little patience we have anymore with the computer if something isn't right there. Remember dial up? How did we survive?

    ReplyDelete
  45. Midlife Jobhunter, Oh right dial up!! And AOL LOL.

  46. I've only had a problem with one blog, but it's been happening for awhile and it's on again, off again.

Mostly I'm writing to give you the ultimate compliment (at least, I hope you think so!). I received Mockingjay and Farm Girl in the same Amazon box and am reading Farm Girl first. ;) Mockingjay can wait. lol.

  47. Karen,
Yeah, blogger is sucky sometimes. But you, on the other hand, are a wonder! Every time you stop by my blog, I appreciate it so much because I know you have a big following to satisfy and I always think, "How does she do it?" You just "go" girl!

    ReplyDelete
  48. Manzanita, what a nice thing to say! Your blog like so many I follow is worth the visit. How I do it is having really fast fingers, fast internet, and *previously* fast blogger :)

Amy, wow that is TRULY the ultimate compliment!! Even mentioning Farm Girl in the same sentence as Mockingjay is a compliment. It's like saying my name and Oprah's in the same sentence.

  49. Blogger is a disaster right now. The comments section crashes, the page won't load, the edit post page messes up--it's completely flaky. Sigh.
