If you're a Writer or a Reader then I Want to Follow Your Blog!

It's official people, I just realized it. I don't follow enough blogs. It's the holiday season, stress is rampant and guess what I do when stressed?  I read and comment on blogs! I just went through my Dashboard today and yesterday and have run out of blogs to read and comment on. That just won't do. Yes, it would be nice if I cleaned out closets or mopped the floors or went to the gym when stressed out, but that's just not me.  My stress relief is reading and commenting on blog posts.

So help me out writers! If you are somewhere along the writing journey, and I don't follow you, or show up on your blog, then please leave a comment so I can find your blog, visit and follow. Because I've set a goal to find 50 new blogs to follow before Christmas. I'm getting desperate. The stress is building, and while many of you are cutting back on your posting, I'm needing more and more. And not getting it!

So if you want a new follower, leave a comment and I'll be there. Although here's the thing-- I'm not doing blogfests so if your title says blogfest and I haven't showed up, that's why. I can't take the added pressure of a blogfest right now, maybe later. Freewheelin' no pressure blog following, that's what I'm after. And if you already follow my blog & I don't follow back, please leave a comment to that effect, and I'll be sure to do so.

  5. great idea, I've been kind of doing the same thing; looking for cool new blogs to follow. you and I already follow one another :)

  6. I participate in a couple 'fests' once in a while but never, ever try to get anyone involved. Later today, a scheduled post will appear about a festival of trees. It's the second time I've participated and it's just because I have a thing for trees.....and it's easy-just some pics.

I don't usually do fests either; not enough time!

  7. mshatch, words crafter & lakeviewer, I've already been to yours & follow. But you can glean from my commenters or sidebar and find new blogs to follow. I follow some awesome blogs! (And this isn't a blogfest, so no pressure LOL)

lbdiamond, May and Joe, Thanks for commenting, I've added your blogs and I look forward to more of your posts.

  8. Hi, Karen. We just had a debate on my blog about indie vs. traditional publishing, so weigh in, if you like or just say hi.

  9. Well, I'm not a writer yet for some reason you're already following my Musings blog. Thank you, by the way. :-)

I'm following close to 300 blogs right now, most via the Cat Blogosphere (so cat blogs), and THAT stresses me out! Too many, too much obligation, even though I'm supposed to be blogging WITHOUT that sense of obligation.

  10. It has been pretty quiet lately. And this from someone who often looks at her dashboard feeling completely overwhelmed. Might explain why I'm not a very good follower. I've been following here for a little while.

My blog isn't much (I've been at it a year, it took some getting used to), but it'd always be nice to have some traffic.

  16. I'd love a new follower! My blog is fairly new, so I don't have many followers. :)

It's kind of boring right now since all I've been blogging about is NaNoWriMo, but I hope to blog more normally after that's over.

  17. BL, should I be following a blog called carnal fiction LOL? I'll see you soon, thanks for the follow as well, always an added bonus.

Elizabeth, You know that's kind of what I figured. I follow so many awesome writers on Twitter but not their blogs. So I hope to remedy that.

Terry, I was so disappointed by not winning your book I had to take a break for awhile LOL.

  31. Karen, what an intriguing mission you have going there -- thanks for the invitation. Me, I blog about issues related to aging and older women. I believe older women possess an inherent eroticism and intelligence that younger women can only dream of. I'd like to see attitudes toward aging change so that the "anti-aging" movement fades into the background, and we are learning to embrace getting older instead of fighting it. There are so many wonderful things about getting older, but in this culture we tend to focus on the decline of our physical bodies, which is sad. In any case, would love it if you dropped by some time.

  40. I'm impressed you can keep up with so many blogs!

I shy away from BlogFests too. I've done two, I think, but it's only when I have something written that works.

  41. Theresa, Well here's the thing, I don't comment on all blogs every time, or even read each one or I'd never get anything else done. But sometimes I'm in the mood for something and I scroll through the dashboard looking for just the thing-- kind of like reading TV Guide-- and depending on my mood or time frame I can run out of blogs to read pretty fast.

    ReplyDelete
  42. Good luck finding 50 new blogs to follow. If it helps at all I have various writer's blogs in a few blog rolls on my blog. I'd say check out my profile to see what I'm following, but I've also got jewerly/crafts blogs there as well.

I need to reorganize my blog rolls a bit I think. Rather than the amwriting hash tag users I might just switch that to a regular other writers. Though it is nice having a Twitter related blog roll.

  48. Karen, you are awesome! I already follow your blog and I'm pretty sure you follow me and it's always a pleasure to see your posts and comments.

I totally know what you mean, though, about looking for just the thing to read when the mood hits. For me it helps me think of topics to post about by seeing what's on other people's minds and writing my own take.

Hope you get to your goal of blogs to follow!

    Cheers!

  53. I've been in the US for many years now and am quite acclimatized to the odd collection of casseroles and dishes that appear on a typical US Thanksgiving Day lunch table. But the first few years were quite a shock: OMG, Jello salad? You put green beans.....in a casserole? Why does my gravy look like wallpaper paste? Don't ask me about the turkey dressing, I didn't know they came clothed. And what the heck is a yam, anyway?

  66. Well I'm relatively new to this blogging world having just started in Sept. with Madame Paradox: The mental contortions of an aspiring author. Trying to go with my gut about all of it, and apparently my gut has a tendency towards slightly morbid humor with occasional bouts of optimism :-). I'd be flattered if you took a look, as you've clearly mastered the blogging arts.
