Questions A to Z

To answer a few questions that have popped up about the A to Z Challenge--

Must I post on a theme?

Not at all, but consider your reasons for participating. If it is to build a platform then use this opportunity to post on themes to illuminate your platform. Also, if you're new at blogging you can write posts to share who you are with new readers.

Do I have to post every day?

Well, that's the plan-- every day in April, A to Z, with a little wiggle room of 4 days. But you can write your posts in advance and schedule them. If you're on Blogger, just click 'Post Options' schedule when you want yours to appear, then click Publish Post-- it will publish when you set it to. If you don't click 'Publish Post' however, Blogger will save it as a draft and will not publish.

Do I have to visit all the participants?

There will probably be close to 500 participants by April 1, which will be overwhelming to visit everyone everyday. Again, it depends on what you want out of this blogfest. If your goal is to make friends and followers then the more you visit, comment and follow, the more will return the favor on your blog. Think about what your goals are by participating, and do whatever will help you achieve that. There are no rules other than to post daily on a subject from A to Z.

Can my posts be short?

Yes, or long, or medium. My personal goal is to write really short posts-- my personal challenge.

What's the point?

This question can only be answered by you. Each person must determine what they want out of participating, then make it work for you to help you achieve your blogging goals.

How do I sign up?

Go here and scroll down to the bottom of the sign ups where it says 'add your name here' follow instructions to sign up, and voila you're in.

Any other questions or comments about the A to Z Challenge? Leave a comment and I or one of the other hosts will address it as well as we can.

  3. Thanks wonderfully! I just left a note asking exactly for what you gave in this post. hurrah and huzzah. Now I'm going to think of a post theme which will need to incorporate my usual posts (Friday Challenges and Tips from the Tops, I guess...)

  5. Short posts if you want others to visit and comment! And in addition to saving as a draft, you can set the date ancd time for all your pre-written posts - then you don't even have to think about it.
I'm ready - bring it one.

  8. Today I started to go through the list and follow the blogs that appeal to me, so when April comes I can quickly scroll through the Dashboard and make comments on new as well as old favorites.

  9. Wait, you have to register or something? Is there a big blog party where the A to Zers can all meet each other?

  12. I hope to sort out what my theme will be and get some posts done in advance too. Next week...I am an always on the long finger sort, it seems. Thanks for explaining and encouraging. I think I signed on just for the challenge. To see if I would do it could do it and stick with it.

  14. I'm looking forward to this but will probably find getting around to everyone is the most difficult bit. A few a day should help. Happy blogging!

  17. The most daunting part of this challenge is posting 6 days a week. I haven't done that in a while. (I'm currently up to K)
