So I am still signed in to Blogger with this URL on my Blackberry but on my laptop, I can't sign in to this blog or to the Celery Tree blog. Only to my From the Shadows to the Page site. If it weren't for so many others having sign in problems, I might accuse my laptop.
Now I have blog anxiety. My very first blog was on AOL Journals 6 years ago. My second one was on Vox, then I started here on Blogger and phased out the Vox blog. AOL Journals and Vox no longer exist and neither do my blogs. Except I saved the content for myself, but online? Nada, nothing, gone, evaporated.
Can you blame me for being anxious? I'd like to think this is Blogger doing updates and coming back stronger than ever. I really don't want to think it is warning signs of the Great Collapse soon to come.
I had horrible problems signing in the other day but it's now completely fine for me. I think you'll be back up and running soon :o) Don't stress! xoxo
ReplyDeleteAiii! A Blogger collapse? Now MY anxiety has raised. I have backed up my blog before but haven't done it recently. Blogger is working fine for me on Firefox right now.
ReplyDeleteOh, ps: are you practicing form-filling for the big event? lolol ;o)
ReplyDeleteKaren, best go into the Settings page and download it while you can. Just in case.
ReplyDeleteThe last time I looked, which was yesterday, I still couldn't access the Blogger's changing template (which is good for me; it's got me past THAT obsession). This is the only problem I'm having. I still have my WordPress site I created but I've decided to let it sit for now since I'm too busy with other things. However....
ReplyDeleteI want to believe it'll straighten out. It did, Jessica says here, for her. But it's a good idea to back up everything. I have a Word document with most of my past posts, and I've been trying to cut and paste with each new one I write. I'm a bit behind though, so I think now that I've read your post I'm going to do catch-up!
p.s. Like Jennifer Lane, I'm also using Firefox...if that makes any difference. Don't know. I don't have any other gadgets beside my desktop where I access the Web. These devices can get complicated, I think ...
ReplyDeleteHi Karen
ReplyDeleteI identify with your blog anxiety. I haven't been able to log into my blog for days or reply to comments or comment without coming up as "Anonymous." The problem isn't affecting every Blogger user, some seem to be sorted out, while others are still posting frustatedly on "Help"
Hopefully it will sort soon.
Mari G
I had trouble signing in before, too. But I haven't had trouble since then . . . Hope the problems you're having go away soon!
ReplyDeleteTry using a different browser than usual. I just read a good post about this problem and this is supposed to fix it. I'll be back with the link.
ReplyDeleteIt is interesting to know what others are experiencing. Ann, I went for months without being able to access the template designer or Stats feature. Then one day they were back. Now let's see if I can even post this comment.
ReplyDeleteOh noes!! Please no more Blogger meltdowns!!!
ReplyDelete:-(
Take care
x
Marguerite, Thanks for that suggestion. It may explain why I can post and comment from my Blackberry *so tedious*
ReplyDeleteYesterday I couldn't get comments; today I can't access followers. I'm not worried - it'll correct itself.
ReplyDeleteI wouldn't worry too much. Blogger is owned by Google who owns the world. So unless the world is going down...
ReplyDeleteAlso, if Blogger is starting another blog site, I'm sure it'll make both sites completely interchangeable.
The Internet had to break one day! Haha.
ReplyDeleteI'm not too worried about it. At some point technology has hiccups and has to be fixed or straightened out.
Oh no, I don't think it's the great collapse - but I can see why you would have anxiety. This post has prompted me to backup everything though. Thanks!
ReplyDeleteHi Karen .. I've just read this post - which might clarify something .. I'm too tired tonight to worry about it .. but I will:
ReplyDeletehttp://blogging.nitecruzr.net/2011/05/blog-owners-unable-to-login-to-blogger.html
Maybe I should go back to firefox as Ann Best suggests .. but one of my machines works, while the other doesn't ..
and here I'll have to select Name/URL then it'll take the comment .. cheers Hilary
PS I redirect from the domain to my blog ... that too may be a problem ..
Just wish they'd notify us ..
I've been having problems signing in too. I remember a long time ago, like Karen Walker said, the east coast had a major glitch that the west coast didn't have. It could have something to do with all the tornadoes too. Lines may be down across the country in afflicted areas. Who knows.
ReplyDeleteI just read Clarissa's comment. Since Google "owns the world" ... I laughed at that. It IS true that Google is a giant in the world of the Internet--though it isn't God, in which case having a backup might not be a bad idea. "If ye are prepared" ... I'm now thinking again about working on my WordPress blog, just in case!
ReplyDeleteYeah, try a different browser and you should get in.
ReplyDeleteWell here I am on my husband's desktop and it all works fine. Sorry, folks, false alarm, the world isn't ending after all. Just call me Chicken Little. It must be a problem with my laptop. I'll do what someone suggested and eat my cookies and clear my head, or was that clear my cookies and eat dinner?
ReplyDeleteI'm getting people telling me they are having trouble leaving comments :(
ReplyDeleteSilly blogger.
Yikes! I hope it's not a sign of the Great Collapse. I've had issues here and there, but I'm crossing my fingers they're just glitches!
ReplyDeleteKaren, try signing in when prompted but uncheck the 'stay signed in' box. That worked for me and eveything is back to normal.
ReplyDeleteOur friend Denise (L'Aussie) also said she's not been able to do comments in the past day either!
ReplyDeleteLet's all set up a WordPress blog. If you're like me you'll not get a lot of it. But I can work the basics, which means all of you should be able to also! Just in case....
p.s. While I was typing my comment, mshatch came in. Uncheck the stay signed in box. I'll try that.
ReplyDeleteBe not anxious, Karen. Just about everything comes to an end at some point. Even the sun, which lights and heats our planet, is supposed to burn out in a few more million years. And our lives, well, they all end at some point, at least in relation to this earthly realm.
ReplyDeleteToday, I have no followers. I'm not worried. Even if they all left (which I doubt), I would still keep on blogging pretty much the way I do. And when I can't blog any more, well, I can't blog. Not the end of the world. Or the end of my life.
The problems have been really annoying, and I too hope that we're not on the verge of losing everything!
ReplyDeleteHey Karen,
ReplyDeleteI haven't been able to comment until today when I changed browsers, now I can...wonder if it goes deeper than Blogger...
Yes, mucho Blogger weirdness of late. Do back up just in case! You can always download all your posts as a file from your Blogger dashboard ...
ReplyDeleteI understand your anxiety completely Karen. I've recently lost my work blog. I have now saved my template and the blog content on my external hard drive.
ReplyDeleteOh no! You're kidding, they're all gone? I'm so sorry. I'd be anxious too!
ReplyDeleteDon't want to lose my blog. Sorry about those who have. Hope the problems are only upgrades gone wrong!

I use Firefox and have yet to encounter any problems. But -- I think I'm gonna' find that download thing and do it.
