New Year's Day is my favorite holiday, because I relish the opportunity to review last year's goals and plan out new ones. I look forward to it every year!
And I like to see what goals and resolutions other people have set. So after my long holiday break I'm going visiting! But first, just in case you want to take a peek at some of my goals for 2012....
1. Lose weight (which has been my top resolution since the age of 14 lol). In 2011 I actually did lose 25 lbs. Must keep that up.)
2. Publish my third novel, "Lighting Candles in the Snow," now in editing.
3. Knit myself another sweater.
4. Be happy. Smile more. Pray more. Be nice to my husband instead of snarky.
5. Get more sleep. Eat less sugar.
Okay, that's enough. Sharing goals can be much too revealing. It's good to be back online, now it's time to go catch up with everyone!
Happy New Year, Karen!! I hope you had a wonderful holiday. Best wishes on your goals, you can do it!
ReplyDelete"Lighting Candles in the Snow" - what a lovely title. I love it.
Cheers!
Jordan
Happy New Year, Karen. Those sound like good goals.
ReplyDeleteGood goals:-)
ReplyDeleteEating less sugar will keep those pounds from coming back. And knitting that new sweater will keep the hands busy so you don't want sugar. And getting the book published will help buy more yarn. See, knitting is always a win-win!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!
I laughed at number three. Good stuff.
ReplyDeleteWelcome back!
ReplyDeleteAnd I think a little snark is all right.
Hi Karen .. wonderful to see you around again .. and here's to your many goals .. I'll join you in one or two of those .. just finished Farm Girl and received House of Diamonds on the 23rd .. just never got to say lovely extra Christmas present and must go see Pamela to say my thanks too.
ReplyDeleteHappy 2012 .... and here's to many successes - as well as Celery Tree .. cheers Hilary
I admire your list of goals, Karen. Gosh! you have set some real targets for yourself.
ReplyDeletePersonally I like the one, "Be nice to my husband!" - I will show Mrs Bluelights!! LOL
I did not make any this year . . . . . again!! LOL, so I cannot break any.
A very Happy New year to you ~ Eddie
Can't achieve goals if you don't set them first - like trying to hit an unknown target.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year!!!
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Karen!
ReplyDeleteSnark and sugar are two things I can't seem to give up, but wishing you luck with it. :)
Love the title of your next book. Wishing you a wonderful year.
ReplyDeleteAll doable!! The third novel sounds ever so exciting! Yay for you!
ReplyDeleteHAPPY HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
take care
x
Happy New Year, Karen! Welcome back! I am just getting back myself and it feels like I am back home. :-) Great goals and congrats on the 25 pounds!
ReplyDeleteGreat goals Karen! I intend to lose weight, get in shape, and eat healthier this year. I figure if I could quit smoking, then this shouldn't be any harder.
ReplyDeleteHappy new year, Karen! Congrats on the 25 lbs - that's awesome - hope you can keep it up too! :)
ReplyDeleteMy resolution is not to make a list of resolutions, (they don't work well for me) but have one resolve; to give my all to all I have to do.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year to you and yours!
Happy New Year to you Karen! Wonderful goals!
ReplyDeleteNice list of goals! Congrats on the weight loss and good luck with the rest! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteYours sound like good goals! Mine are (so far) to exercise more and write every day. They're a WIP :-)
ReplyDeleteI'm eager to hear what Lighting Candles in the Snow is about. Great title. :) Your third book! Yay!
ReplyDeleteI love these goals, especially sleep more, eat less sugar.
ReplyDeleteHave a great 2012!
Karen, Your goals are great ones. I wish you much luck with them. I especially like your effort to not be snarky to husband. It's wonderful when we see that we are snarky to those we love.
ReplyDeleteLove your hair!
Teresa
I'm glad you're back. And those are wonderful resolutions. I hope you get your happiness one for sure.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year. I just started reading, Farm Girl. I am enjoying it. I am looking forward to hearing about Lighting Candles in the Snow!
ReplyDeleteI hope you accomplish everything on your list. Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteWelcome back, Karen! We missed you. Good Luck with all your resolutions. Have a wonderful 2012!
ReplyDeleteThose sound like wonderful resolutions! Happy New Year, Karen. :)
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Karen!
ReplyDeleteAll good goals Karen! I share many of them. I've also decided to submit once a week, anywhere, somewhere - that'll keep the stories coming!
ReplyDeleteDenise
Happy New Year Karen! Can you knit me a sweater next, I'm real small?! :)
ReplyDeleteJules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
argh... #4 ATW for me. Gah. You said a mouthful with that one. And lately #1 has been creeping back in there. I'm sure it's b/c I also need to practice #5--LOL!
ReplyDeleteHere's to a happy new year filled with goals met! <3
Happy New Year, Karen! Wishing you success with every goal!
ReplyDeleteI am with you with the losing weight. I have too but I enjoy food so much. I am off for a walk. Wish the the best of the best for 2012
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year, Karen. I hope you succeed in accomplishing your goals.
ReplyDeleteAll the best in the new year.
Great goals! I gave up on your #1 goal for myself a long time ago. Sigh. Here's to a fantastic 2012!
ReplyDeleteSorry I've just gotten around to the blogs now.
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Karen! Much continued success in 2012.
I could use more sleep :) Losing weight is a pipe dream though . .
ReplyDeleteHappy New Year Karen.
.....dhole
I like the idea of knitting a sweater, choosing beautiful colors, making it by your own hand. I've always wanted to try knitting ... Happy New Year to you :)
ReplyDeleteI love New Years because of our fondue party with friends, but your reason is good too ;)
ReplyDeleteI definitely need to follow your numbers 4 and 5! Happy New Year!
ReplyDeleteOh, I can relate to several of those (well, not the knitting). I need to be less "snarky" in general. With an election year, I really need to keep the snark in check.
ReplyDeleteBe happy is an awesome goal! Good luck reaching all of your goals this year!
ReplyDeleteGreat aspriations. I'd go for most those, too, except that I don't know your husband ...
ReplyDeleteGood luck with achieving your goals. I know you can do it. :-)
ReplyDeleteWonderful goals; I share many of them. This Christmas I tackled my first "big" knitting project and made my husband a vest, so I think I'm going to try a sweater for myself next. At least if I mess up, I'm not forcing anyone else to wear my mistakes. :)
ReplyDeleteFaith, The first large project I ever made was a vest for my husband, shortly after we were married. It must have been some quality yarn because that vest still looks as good as new even after 40 years of marriage! Course it doesn't get worn much now, as he "outgrew" it sometime around age 35.
ReplyDeleteMisha, Thanks! I appreciate the support. Good luck with achieving yours as well. I'll be watching hehe.
Simon, Well, like most husbands, mine would be grateful for a nicer, less snarky wife I'm sure :)
You have such healthy and productive goals, very succinct and to the point. I like that. Congratulations on losing twenty-five pounds last year. I am sure you will be able to continue with this. You sound very dedicated. Good luck on all of your other goals and the publishing of your third book. I hope you have a happy and productive 2012.
ReplyDeleteI am also trying to smile more. Especially as we get older, if we're not smiling we look miserable (and sometimes freaky). Happy New Year Karen!
