Happy Eating!

Many thanks to those of you who weighed in on theme ideas for the A to Z Challenge. The ones who suggested food will be happy to hear that is exactly what I've settled on. My next book release, coming up this summer, is a cookbook: The House of Diamonds Cookbook: Hearty Meals for Active Families. Wish I had a cover to show you but maybe I will before the month of April is over.

And so to promote my book, I'll post recipes from A to Z.  Next Monday is April 1, and I'll start with Amber Pie. See you then!

  3. This is such a great theme for your A-Z Challenge. I just received a Lemon Meringue Pie from my neighbour for my Birthday - she is so sweet n makes me one each BDay. Your pie looks delicious. I will look forward to following your challenge. B O L

    1. SaucyKod, Mmm, home made lemon meringue pie is the BEST. My daughter learned how to make it when she was 10 and has been doing it ever since. A store bought lemon meringue pie doesn't even compare once you taste the real thing.

  8. Dear Karen, a great theme for the challenger. I look forward to finding some recipes that might fit my new vegan profile. I've been a vegetarian for 32 years and now I'm moving to being a vegan. I did buy a cookbook that seemed to have some truly tasty recipes in it. Peace.

    1. Dee, You'll find recipes that are Vegan or can be adapted. We aren't big meat eaters in our family and like to use a lot of vegetables, dried beans and grains for economy as well as health.

    1. Mirka, Let me know if you find it. It was a recipe I got from a friend decades ago, I think her mom invented it LOL.

    2. Found *three* such labeled on the Internet, only they bear no relation to each other. We are waiting for yours/your friend's mom.

  10. What a great idea! I plan on taking a break from blogging during April, but I'll try to stop by and check out some of your recipes. Starting with that amber pie. I never heard of that one before...

By the way, you look mah-velous, dahling. Love your new picture. You look so slim and trim. (You must not EAT too much of that amber pie!)

    1. Susan, LOL thanks for the compliment and believe me I've already gained 5 lbs by working on this recipe book. Because hearty meals for active families doesn't really work right now for my lifestyle, which is sedentary writer with just herself and husband to feed. I and my scale are looking forward to release date and getting back to 'eating for empty nesters'.

  11. I ate so much yesterday that I couldn't face a blog about food right now. Fortunately, by April 1, yesterday's splurge will be but a memory and I will be ready for some good cooking tips. Looking forward to see what you will come up with.
