In a Bag Salad

If your children like to help in the kitchen, this is a fun recipe for them to make. Cut up the vegetables into strips or rings and let them add everything to the bag and shake it up.

In a Bag Salad
Ingredients:

6 tablespoons olive oil
6 tablespoons red wine vinegar
2 teaspoon basil
2 teaspoon oregano
Salt and freshly ground black pepper to taste
2 sweet red peppers, seeded and cut into thin strips
2 green peppers, seeded and cut into thin strips
1 Bermuda onion, thinly sliced

Directions:
Whisk together olive oil, vinegar, basil, oregano and salt and pepper. Pour into a gallon-sized zipper seal bag. Add peppers and onions. Seal bag, toss up and down, and let stand at room temperature until ready to serve. Pour into serving bowl, squeezing out all dressing. Serves 6.

  2. I've marinaded sliced onions in vinegar before but hadn't thought of adding any herbs. I will certainly try that at some point.

  6. So easy! And the clean up--always something I'm not keen on doing--non-existent!
