Interview with Spunk on a Stick!

Today I'm over at L. Diane Wolf's Spunk on a Stick talking about WiDo Publishing. How it got started, what it's like running a small press in today's publishing world, how changes in the market have affected WiDo.

This weekend our family had a reunion up in Ogden Canyon, a week from today our youngest returns from his two-year mission and three weeks after that my husband goes in for knee replacement surgery. That's what happens when you have a baby at age 43-- he turns 22 and you go in to have your knees replaced.

Anyway, more news to come. The Gowen family is planning some big changes in the very near future!

  2. Our 22 year old 'not quite the baby' comes home from a long internship next week too. I had my knee replaced at a very young age almost ten years ago. It went great and I jog between 3-5 miles per day now. Good luck to your husband and hope he has a great outcome too.

  7. It's all those prayers you have to offer for strength and guidance. Destroys the knees every time, lol!

I had Jake at 40 so I hear you on that.

I have to have a knee replacement done. It's a bit scary to contemplate. Be looking to see how your husband does with his. Prayers offered that it goes smoothly and works great.

  8. Most interesting history - nice to learn these things. Goodness, May all go well with the knee surgery - make sure he does all his exercises to the "T" and nothing else and he will have success - If all orders are followed, his surgery will be successful. BOL

    1. Saucy Kodz, Yes, everyone is telling him that the physical therapy is the most important part of the surgery. He's clearing his schedule so he can do the "nothing else" part.

  10. Dear Karen, I read the interview and left a comment there. It's clear that I need to consider whether WiDo might be interested in the historical novel I've completed. I continue to seek an agent to represent my writing because I work in several different genres. Right now I have read the historical novel, a cat fantasy, and I'm completing the work on an angel gift book. I read WiDo's submission page and now I need to read the rest of that web site. Thanks for suggesting several weeks ago that I might consider WiDo. I didn't follow up on that because life got busy, but I can see now that I need possibly to start rethinking all this. Peace.
