AND NOW WE HAVE A NAME!!!! AND A LOGO!!
The name is Celery Tree LLC, or celerytree.com for short. Why this name? From the @Celery_tree twitter feed:
"Why celery? --it's everywhere & often overlooked. Why tree? --it grows & spreads until the world takes notice."
Like the common, ordinary, hard-working, underpaid, barely noticed WRITER!! Like most of us!! I mean really, the JK Rowlings & Stephanie Meyers & Stephen Kings you can count on the fingers of one hand per decade.
The rest of us aren't celebrities or best-selling authors-- those of us blogging, twittering & facebooking our time away, trying to promote ourselves and our work and get a readership for the books we write in our spare time when we aren't on social media, or raising our families, or working at our day jobs that pay the bills.
We need a hand up, and here it is!!
Announcing celerytree.com--
And the concept behind this new website for authors is simple: It's a gathering place to network, market, and sell your books all from one location. This celery tree needs a giraffe nibbling on its leaves, but I guess I can't have everything my way.
The idea is to start up with 100 authors, and there's still room! If you are interested, email membership@celerytree.com for more details. Meanwhile, keep up with updates and progress on the website through the twitter account @Celery_tree.
I'm currently doing the social media and membership for the site, but not sure how long I will before turning it over to someone else. I'm finding it interesting to tweet for a company. I keep having to hold back my normal personality. I tweet, delete, tweet, delete-- haha it's pretty lame, but I'm catching on. So see you over there!
And I'll also blog about it occasionally, so keep following for continued information and updates! Things are evolving, like where to fit in authors of ebooks only, and how to accommodate small publishers who want all their authors on board, and authors outside the U.S., and those who want their books shipped by distributor, and so forth. Celery Tree LLC wants to do things right, to make it simple for the author, and make it work for all of us.
Can you tell I'm excited? It's getting closer people, and I can't wait!
congrats!

First of all the Lettuce series in the summer and now celery tree, you are not trying to persuade me to eat my greens are you?*I see you Santa's secret spy*
Joanna, I wonder if anyone would get the connection between lettuce & celery LOL. The whole idea was to announce the name back then, like tossing celery in the salad, but I wasn't allowed to give out the name until now. But the lettuce contests were still really fun!
ReplyDeleteClarissa, Yay for putting the logo up on your blog!! Me too! And as soon as your book comes out, you must join!
