I am in love. With books. It's true. They are my passion, my life, my compass. I have other things I love, too, of course, like husband, family, God-- you know, the usual. But books!! Without them, I can't imagine who or what or where I would be in this life.
The fact that I can be one small part of the grand and glorious process of reading, writing, publishing, buying and selling books makes my skin tingle.
ew! Me, too!!! Short but sweet, and precisely how I feel. Thanks, Karen~ :o) <3
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way. I visit every bookstore and library and used bookstore around and never come home empty handed. Books are beautiful--even when they're on a shelf, dusty and waiting to be read.
ReplyDeleteWe have a new library director culling our shelves, putting all the books more than a year or two old on the FOR SALE shelf. Most of them are coming home with me!
I love everything about them: the cover, the smell of the paper, and where the inside words take me away. Hooray for book love!
ReplyDeleteI'm glad your'e having such a book-loving, tingly day.
ReplyDeleteI love books too. My biggest dream is to be able to share my writing in a book with others someday.
Happy reading and writing!
I'm with you 100%! Congrats on reaching 600. Very cool!
ReplyDelete*grins* It is a glorious thing, isn't it? I need to keep that in mind... :)
ReplyDeleteditto :)
ReplyDeleteIt shows, Karen! You can dress up as Page Turner for Mardi Gras and nobody will think it's not you.
ReplyDeleteI'm with you karen. No matter how bad things were going, or how poor I was, there was always books!
ReplyDeleteYay!!!! I love books too!!! They are our bestest most reliable friends. They're always there and will never let you down!! Books are brilliant! Take care

OMGosh, me too. I love them. I was just over gushing about one of them on another blog. :)
ReplyDeleteHow can a writer not love books?
ReplyDeleteI'm tingling for you, knowing you have found a passion. I just love words; book, button, bumper sticker... :)
ReplyDeleteJules @ Trying To Get Over The Rainbow
Oh yeah ... books rock!
ReplyDeleteyep and never more than when it is blizzarding out! I'm going to take my recent reading to the tub and enjoy the experience...
ReplyDeleteYou should make a personalized Valentine card for Books this year--it's a nice thing to do for a loved one :) I, too, love books!
ReplyDelete<3 books!
ReplyDeleteOh gosh. The smell of a brand new book is better than chocolate.
ReplyDeleteI love books too; that's why I'm worried about all the bookstores that are shutting down. There's nothing like being in a bookstore surrounded by thousands of words that other people wrote.
ReplyDeleteOpening a new book for the first time is one of the most wonderful things in the world.
ReplyDeleteMe too!!! I don't know who I would be without them. You might as well pull out my heart and brain and feed them to the wolves ...
ReplyDeletehere here to all of it.
ReplyDeleteMe too! <3 <3 <3
ReplyDeleteAre you going to be at Storymakers this year with WiDo?
Yeah. You rock!
ReplyDeleteBooks give me a strong tingle. I love 'em the feel, smell, color and--and I love them piled and stacked. Oh and I love to read them too. :)
ReplyDeleteYou said a lot in a short post. I love books, too. Reading them, writing them, fondling them...heck, I just have a thing for them.
ReplyDeleteI feel the same way--and the tingling!
ReplyDeleteAnn Best, Author
Me too! I've always loved books, but now that I'm chatting with authors, the books mean even more.
ReplyDelete"The fact that I can be one small part of the grand and glorious process of reading, writing, publishing, buying and selling books makes my skin tingle. "
ReplyDeleteLOVE this. And agree...(but still hoping for the publishing/selling part).
Hi Karen .. me too and as LTM said 'you couldn't describe it better' and Jess' comment about her local library and how she's taking all the for sale books home - great idea.
ReplyDeleteWouldn't it be wonderful to have a library, large windows, doors opening onto a sunny garden, a log fire for the 'winterless months' and plenty of time to wander through all our books garnering ideas, searching through the mists uncovering old thoughts and the way life was - but from our coveted position in the 21st century ...
Oh yes - February's here, your giraffe is above reminding me of African days .. better move on! Cheers Hilary
I can so relate to that! I love my books too :O)
ReplyDeleteI love love love books! Love the feel of them, the smell of them (I think someone else said that too, but it's so true!) and especially reading and writing them. :)
ReplyDeleteBooks, libraries, book stores. Some of my favorite places in the world! I'm a happy girl when there's a stack of books waiting for me on my bedside table. Bliss!
ReplyDeleteI went through a period of about ten years where the only books I read were text books. But I've made up for lost time since then and will continue to do so.
ReplyDeleteI do regret not having more space for books. Some days I'm afraid my neighbors would think I'm a hoarder if they saw the stacks in my bedroom : )
I couldn't have put it better myself. I can't imagine not writing or reading them. I think one of the reasons my husband bought me an eReader was so that he wouldn't have to move out and make room for more books!
ReplyDeleteMe too! Love, love, love them! They're pure escapism for me, I couldn't live without them.
ReplyDeleteLOL :) What a coincidence, I love books too . .
ReplyDelete.........dhole
YES.. mee toooo! I just don't know where I would be without them either. I used to practically live at the library when I was younger.
ReplyDeleteI feel and think the same. :)
ReplyDeleteHave a great weekend.
Yes, where would we be without books?
ReplyDeleteI would have to add music to that as well.
Have a great weekend ~ Eddie

I feel the same way. I love books and I love our local library. It's a fascinating place. I also enjoy visiting books-stores and I know I have passed on this passion to my two-year old daughter. She is just as passionate about books as I am!
