The opening chapter of "Lighting Candles in the Snow"(to be released by WiDo Publishing, Fall 2012) is now posted on my website. What's this novel about, you ask?
Summary:
Newly divorced Karoline London needs to find her normal again, as
older sister Suzie keeps reminding her. But what does Suzie know about
normal? After all, she has Rob, the perfect husband, and seven gorgeous
children, while Karoline had six years married to a man tormented by
addictions
.
When Karoline meets handsome Zac Kline, things just might be looking
up. And then she discovers something about ex-husband Jeremy that
changes everything.
Lighting Candles in the Snow is a story of hope and
redemption, about new beginnings and fresh starts. It is about the weak
finding courage, and how tragic events can create unbreakable bonds
within families. Above all and despite everything, it is a love story.
Curious at all? I hope so! I invite you to go here and preview Chapter One. The comment section is open, meaning feedback is welcome. *grins happily*
Definitely curious! That sounds wonderful. :)
ReplyDeleteI believe you said your other books were loosely based on real life events - is this one the same?
ReplyDeleteAlex, Good question that I should probably clarify up front to save my husband embarrassment and humiliation LOL. No, this novel is not at all autobiographical like my others!
ReplyDelete*Chuckle* I'm glad this isn't autobiographical, for your husband's sake.
ReplyDeleteThe story sounds really intruiging, Karen. I'm excited for you. And only a few months to go before publication! Woo-hoo!
Jai
That sounds like my kind of story! Very intrigued!
ReplyDeleteLOVE your title. That's a winner. :))
ReplyDeleteSounds like a good one!
ReplyDeleteI really enjoyed the first chapter. Thanks for sharing a sneak peek with us. As a reader, I was curious as to the reasoning behind the details of preparation during the first part of chapter. As I read on, I found the relevance of the freshness of the food but still didn't fully grasp where the preparation details fit in. I may have just missed it in the excitement of reading it.
ReplyDeleteAngela, Good question! Karoline's careful thoughtfulness in preparing the food shows her excitement about this dinner, and her desire for everything to be just right. It's been awhile since she cooked for her husband, and now on this special occasion, she's very focused on making it perfect, especially since their marriage is so obviously in trouble.
ReplyDeleteThanks for reading and responding :)
Congratulations! Intriguing premise!
ReplyDeleteVery cool! I'll check it out.
ReplyDeleteI left you a comment over there. Happy weekend!
ReplyDeleteGood luck! Sounds like you have another winner.
