Karen, that honey oat bread looks mouth watering. My favorite food is bread and butter. Shows ya what a simple soul I am. I used to make bread all the time when my kids where growing up but right now I don't have a stove but sometimes I make the essene bread and put it in the dehydrater .
Manzanita, Funny how something so basic like homemade bread that used to be essential in times past is now a luxury in our busy lives. Thanks for stopping by!
YUM, thank you! It's snowing here and I'm up for some cozy carbs, so I might just try this today! On another note, it's been awhile since I commented on your blog--I know because your header has changed~ love the flowers :) I'm trying to be better about blog commenting~ the new baby has greatly reduced my computer time~ she's worth it, though :)
Yum! That looks wonderful. I've never tried to make any sort of bread myself, but my husband used to make a killer sourdough bread. Unfortunately, he got out of the habit. I'll have to see if I can get him interested again.
Hi Karen .. it looks delicious .. sadly bread and I don't really go - when it's there I'll enjoy it very much - but like cakes and biscuits .. I try and steer clear - but I know many would love it ...
Now toasted with butter and honey would only be allowed at the end of long long walk and an open fire to sit me by - with a large cup of tea!!
Cheers Hilary - I'm off to have a drink of water!!
I pulled out my bread maker in December and love making homemade bread (plus all my kids will eat it!) I can't wait to see your recipe. Thanks Karen!!!
I've never made bread before, but that bread recipe looks really good. One of my New Year's resolutions is to spend more time in the kitchen learning how to cook, rather than just go into the kitchen to heat up a frozen dinner.
This bread recipe looks really great, Karen. You know, I think I might be able to manage this even though I'm only a man ROFL. A bit easier than fighting dinosaurs at me abode LOL
Just once I made bread. I'd taken the kids to my brother's farm, seen them harvest the wheat, then went to the mill to see if ground into flour, then took them home and made the bread.
It was so hard you could have built a house with it ... oh well, not one of my skills I suppose ... but I love it when others make it!
Hi Karen! I've never made any but I love home made bread! This looks pretty good! A couple of pieces toasted with some butter and I'd be just right... Yum!
Dear Karen, the bread looks delicious and I bet it smells even better. I'll go to your web site and copy the recipe because baking bread is something I so enjoy. It's like praying.
I've been away from reading and commenting on blogs for nearly seven weeks. Thus, I've missed your words and thoughts about writing.
I did blog though and on both my on-line memoir blog and my writing blog I posted about entering the Amazon Breakthrough Novel Contest. I worked really hard to polish and tighten the manuscript I had ready--"The Reluctant Spy"--which takes place in first-century Palestine. But it was the 300-or-fewer-words pitch that demanded the most of me. It's so hard to entice people to want to read! And the first elimination, which will be announced on February 13, is based on the judges' assessment of the pitch. I'm both eager and anxious for that date to arrive. Peace.

Looks tasty:) I recently made cornbread out of corn I grew in my yard. I was a lot of work grinding it by hand.
