I Want to Buy Your Book

And now something for those of you with a book or books for sale. I'm excited about this particular contest. When I held the Pay it Forward Contest, I really really really wanted a chance to buy one of your books and review it on my blog, on Amazon and Goodreads. It didn't work out, as the winner didn't have a book out and chose a query and 3- chapter review instead.

So now I'm offering this for a prize:

I will buy your book, and review it here, on Goodreads, and Amazon.

I'll twitter your pitch to my nearly 200 followers, and ask them to RT it to their followers.

Because writers buy books, and support other writers!

LETTUCE     READ    Congratulations to Jessica Bell for winning Like Bees to Honey.

LETTUCE     QUERY   Congratulations to winner Candace Ganger for the best query out of 30 entries.

LETTUCE     BUY BOOKS  Drawing open to those who have a book in the marketplace

  1. You are wonderful, Karen, what you are trying to do to help writers. Thanks for the review you've already written for my memoir.

  2. I love how you're trying to Pay it Forward! I'm doing the same thing today through July 31st on my blog. Maybe somehow we can link up or you could take part.

I'm still super excited about winning the query contest! Once I get a moment to breathe today, I'm going to get my chapters over to Allie:)

  3. It's great you're holding these contests all summer.

  4. This is a fab fab fab competition!! Good luck everyone entering!!

    Thanks KarenG!!!

    Take care

  5. Karen,

Marvellous scheme! Alas I only have eBooks available currently, but I'm supporting you in spirit!

  6. Go Karen! Oh, but don't enter me. I don't have a book out yet. I just like the fact that you're doing this. It's cool. :)

  7. I'm Elizabeth Isaacs author of "The Light of Asteria" and I now stalk you on Twitter, tweeted this blog, and am putting your button on my sidebar! :-) I'll ask some of my writing buddies to enter as well. Thank you so much for the opportunity!

  8. The fact that you called it Pay it Forward actually made me a bit emotional. That's what I think the whole world should be about.

I've written two books, Dimensions of Genesis is in print and Inhuman will be in print in August.

I've happily added you to my twitter. :D

  9. Bummer! My book isn't out for three more months.

  10. Your support of the writing community is wonderful. I re-tweeted your tweet with the link back to here.

I'd enter this round if I had a book out.

  11. The Freak Observer is out August 1. Is that soon enough? (Amazon thinks it doesn't come out until November, but that is not true.)

  12. Are you sure you don't want to open it to e-books? Most e-books can be read on the computer (you don't need a device), and it would save you some $$.

My recently released novel Life, Liberty, and Pursuit is available in e-book and print, so count me in either way! I'll also blog/tweet/fb about this tomorrow, and I already follow you on Twitter. I think that's something like 6 pts. :)

I love the way you are paying this forward! I'm running a contest on my blog as well, with prizes for writers and readers, and supporting writers by encouraging people to review.

Thanks for running such a great series supporting writers! :)

  13. Great opportunity for writers. I'm going to post this on my blog, even if I can't enter because I don't have a published book (sniff).

  14. Girl, I have six books you can choose from!
I'm a follower, I followed your Twitter, and I just Tweeted. That's 4 points. I'll blog about in my Friday roundup and leave another comment then.
Congratulations! And dear Lord, we have about the same amount of followers, which means I'll hit 300 soon, too. Eek!

  15. About the ebooks-- I still have the whole summer to do another contest, so if you have an ebook instead, you'll get your chance. Maybe I'll need to go buy my iphone for that one lol!

  16. Heh heh heh...I just came by to see if there were any titles I needed to 'steal' to put on my list!

  17. Wow, how exciting! Thanks Karen! I'll be back tomorrow when I'm not cross-eyed to enter!

  18. I don't have a book for sale right now (unless you count eBay/Amazon Marketplace) but I think this is a great way to support writers, and I thank you for it.

  19. This is so exciting, Karen! I wish I had a book to enter, but I don't (YET!) I'm anxious to read your review of your lucky winner's book.

  20. This really is such a good idea! If I could get my act together, I'd love to do something like that on my blog. Brainstorming!

  21. What a great way to pay it forward! It's such a good idea, Karen. :o) Alas, all I have are nonfiction things and nothing worth reviewing. Unless you want an in-depth look at the mammals of the Grand Staircase-Escalante National Monument, I'll sit this one out. :o)

Good to luck to all the participants. You're awesome, Karen!

  22. Great idea for a contest Karen.
This kind of support could make a big difference.
    Shame mine isn't quite ready.

  23. You certainly come up with interesting contests. I do have a book for sale so count me in.

  24. Why thank you for inviting me! I do have a book for sale as well, in true paperback form. It's 280 pages. It is amazing that you're doing this for writers. :)

  25. wonderful idea! I love that you are paying it forward!
My book does not come out until January 2011. Just wanted to stop in and say, great job.

  26. Very cool idea, Karen. (Wish I had a book for you...)

  27. What a wonderful and fun way to support other authors - great idea, Karen! You rock! :-)

  28. Sounds like a great contest. Good luck to all the entrants. :-)

    - Corra

    The Victorian Heroine

  29. Great contest! Do this again next year, okay... then I will have one! I am going to let Authors Promoting Authors know and FB ANYWAY, as I know a ton of people who could use it...

  30. What a great contest, Karen! You're so cool for supporting other writers. You can check out my book any time. Count me in.

  31. writers supporting other writers is supercool. I have no book out yet, or I'd enter. Still, you rule~

  32. OK! I'm back!

    Here's my pitch:

'24 Hours Paris' is your around-the-clock guide to what's on at any hour in the City of Light.

From underground torture chambers turned jazz joints to midnight movies, there's always something on, somewhere in Paris.

  33. Wow! What a great thing that you are doing for writers.

  34. This is an epic contest, Karen! Way to go! I think you're going to go down in blogging history! ;o)

  35. And mentioned it in my blog post today -

  36. Any authors interested in joining the Author Blog Hop, check here.

  37. What a great idea! I'm too late for the party, but I'll follow you anyway.
