Evening in Panajachel

My husband and I aren't much for night life unless it involves a Netflix movie. But if you come to Panajachel for a visit, you'll of course want to enjoy the gorgeous evenings in this Guatemala resort area. Because after the sun sets over Lake Atitlan, there's a special glow in the air and the town changes.

Everyone seems to be out in the evenings: families, teenagers flirting with each other, little kids running errands for their parents, tourists, people coming and going. The restaurants come to life, many with live bands or performers.

Even the tuk tuks dress up in their evening wear.

  9. That is too funny that the Tuk Tuks are all dressed up. One has to go out every once in a while for a night on the town even if it ends at 10pm:)

  10. Love that first picture. Wonderful sunset.
Hereabouts, only the party animals go out at night. :)

  11. I like those cars! I think it'd be fun to ride in one. I also like the idea of everyone being outside. Here in the States it seems like everyone stays inside, in front of their TVs/computers/tablets/cell phones. Even when they're outside they're staring at their cell phones instead of their surroundings.

  14. Sigh. How beautiful. How wonderful to be outside and mingling. Takes me back to my long ago childhood when people weren't inside staring at their computers and glued to their other "devices."
